Robyn Pandolph Fabrics on Sale

If I had to pick a favourite fabric from my fabric stash it would have to be a Robyn Pandolph fabric. There is something truely beautiful about the elegant and traditional look of Robyn Pandolph fabrcis that makes me feel wonderful all over.

I guess it has to do with the fact that I love old things. My home was originally built in 1890 and I love nothing more than filling it up with old furniture and collectibles from the past. In keeping with this theme I started searching for fabrics that I could use in my quilt making that had an aged style or appearance about them. So you can imagine my delight (some years ago now) when I discovered Robyn Pandolph fabrics. I have been collecting them ever since. They even look wonderful folded neatly and stacked in my old pine fabric cupboard. Almost too beautiful to cut up!

What a welcome surprise to find some lovely Robyn Pandolph fat quarters on sale. I’m sitting here trying to justify adding to my collection yet again. They are from the Sweet Dreams range and I am imagining the sweet dreams I could have under a quilt made from them.

Here’s a few samples for you;

robyn-pandolph5.jpg robyn-pandolph41.jpg robyn-pandolph61.jpgYou guessed it my two favourite colours together are pink and green. Although there are some blues in this range too for all you blue lovers out there. Normally priced at $5 AU Quilt Fabric Delights now has them for just $3 AU.

Click here for the link to the exact page if you would like to see the others on offer.

Surely that’s reason enough to grab some for my collection, before they’re all gone.

And I do have a new quilt design that I am planning on starting soon. Perhaps they could make an appearance in my new quilt?!!!

Anyway enough of my rambling and justification. If you have a weakness for Robyn Pandolph fabrics like me then head over to Quilt Fabric Delights.

Happy fabric hunting!

Amy Butler Fabric to Swoon Over

There’s something about Amy Butler fabric that catches your eye. This clever designer is changing the way we look at clothing and soft furnishings. I thought my days of sewing clothing were far behind me.  Once I discovered patchwork and quilting the thought of sewing clothes for my myself and the kids did nothing to inspire me. But seeing Amy Butler fabric had stirred the sewer in me once again. Discovering bags and hats made from Amy Butler fabric has made my spirit go ahhhhh.

I’d love one of these hats. It kinda puts my old gardening hat to shame!!!

This would be much more of a fashion statement don’t you think?

So you can imagine my excitement when I tracked down some Amy Butler fabric priced at a reasonable $22.95 AU . This has tempted me to drag my sewing machine out once again.

Here are some of the styles on offer at Fred the Needle and here’s the link if you would like to check them out further. http://www.fredtheneedle.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=93

The new Amy Butler Lotus range has also caught my eye. I love the polka dots.

Although they are priced at a bit more $27.50 AU. I really want some in my stash.

Here’s the link if you want to see the whole range (and beleive me you should)

Hope you enjoy swooning over Amy Butler fabric as much as I do.

Happy fabric hunting.

Prints Charming- Bright and Funky Fabrics

If you are an avid sewer you probably have a favourite colour way that you usually turn to. I know I do. It’s the style your fabric stash is full of. Choosing from your favourites is always fun and will always make your heart sing. You probably have some favourites that are so special that you cannot bring yourself to cut into them. They are the ones you get out every so often just to look at, refold and then place safely away. They lay waiting for that truely worthy project. I totally understand, I have many fabric pieces stashed away patiently waiting for that magical day!

But ever now and again it is refreshing to look at fabric that is completely different. This has recently been my experience as I have come to know the fabric tastes of some new friends. Since moving interstate I have met some wonderful new sewing friends who have welcomed me on their fabric hunting  expeditions. I’ve been able to see first hand their purchases and to then marvel at the exciting ways they have used these fabrics to create beautiful items.

This new insight has given me a fresh look at all fabrics and I now see possibilities jumping out at me everywhere. So much so that I have been experimenting with some fabrics I would not normally have bought. And I must say I’m very pleased with the results.

This brings me to an ezxciting new site I have just found at: http://www.printscharming.com.au These girls look like they are having the time of their lives with creating bright, funky, fun fabrics for us to enjoy. Their use of colour is sure to inspire you as it has done me. Their original designs are quite unique and make me smile.

These talented ladies were featured in a recent Country  Craft and Decorating magazine and I noticed when I was on their website that their fabrcis are selling out fast. So if these fun fabrics tickle your fancy then be quick.

Prints Charming- don’t they have  a fabulous name?

They come in 112cm widths and are selling for $24 AU per metre.

Here’s a few samples from the Prints Charming ranges on offer.

Hope you enjoy and happy fabric hunting.

Warmly Lenna

Finding Fabric Online

I love piles of fabric

Last night I spent much of the night slumped over my computer looking at quilting fabrics online. You see I’m a self confest fabric collector and I’m not ashamed to admit it. Well not to you anyway, because if you have found this post chances are that you suffer from the same addiction.

There’s something about fabric that seems to captivate a lot of woman folk. Those of us who have the passion “real bad” will have heaps of the stuff filling our cupboards. Some of us will even have our fabric piles sorted into colourways or neatly stacked in bundles simply to admire. And some will even have secret stashes hidden away from less understanding partners or friends.

Does all this sound familiar to you?

If so you’re in good company. Consider me a kindred spirit and good friend to have by your side. I’ve started this blog to help you with you continual quest for the right fabric. I figure that if I am searching for the best buys, the right colour or style then maybe you are too. So it seems to make good sense to help you as well.

As I continue on my fabric journey I’ll post my latest finds here. So drop by every now and again and enjoy my discoveries.

Happy fabric hunting!

Warmly Lenna
